With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Jim Smith, on August 1st, 2017, at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Orillia. Predeceased by his long loving wife Mildred Evelyne (nee Rudd). Will be sadly missed by his children Dale, Gary and Vicki. Loving Grandfather to Jacob, James, Kyle and Randelle. Brother to Doug, Ruth (predeceased), Lyman (predeceased), Robert (predeceased), Special uncle to many nephews and nieces. Dear friends Ron and Karen Stevens and family. Wonderful neighbours. Jim was a humble, hardworking family man who worked with the North York Fire Department as Captain and retired after 31 years in 1987. He loved his wood working shop, square dancing, entertaining at home and the retirement lifestyle in Orillia with his devoted wife. He was always ready to help anyone in need. Visitation will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St N., Orillia on Thursday, August 3rd, 2017 from 7PM until 9PM. RUMBOLD, Hazel – Peacefully at University Hospital on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, Hazel Louise Rumbold, nee McDonald of London in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Delmer George Rumbold (2013). Dear mother of Lorraine Walne (Ted Lane), Margaret Mitchell (Geza Sturm), Glen Rumbold (Lynn Campbell) and mother-in-law of Rita Rumbold. Predeceased by her son Allan Rumbold and grandson Alex. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Brian (Sue), Lee (Marites), Tina (Mitch), Sandra (Spencer) and by Donna and several great-grandchildren. Special thank you to the caring staff at University Hospital, Orthopaedic Unit. The funeral service will be conducted at Harris Funeral Home, 220 St. James St. at Richmond on Saturday, August 5 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation preceding from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow the service. The family announces with great sorrow her passing in Sudbury, Monday, July 31, 2017 at the age of 81 years. Beloved wife of Richard Huneault of Sudbury. Daughter of the late Télésphore and the late Bérangère (née Ménard) Paquette. Loving mother of Marc (Louise), Joanne Tramontini (Brian) and Richard (Diane) all of Sudbury. Predeceased by her son André. Much loved mother-in-law of Suzanne Huneault (Daniel Joanisse). Dear sister of Dr. Gaston (Janine), Colombe DesRosiers (late Maurice) and Gérard (Aline). Predeceased by her brothers Charles Edouard (Gisèle), Fernand (Jeannine) and Jean-Jacques (Linda). Cherished grandmother of Joëlle (Michel), Pierre, Danielle, Justin, Michel, Benoit, Lia, Luc and great-grandmother of Kloé and Téo. She was a generous woman of many talents and had a zest for life. Marie Claire had an accomplished career in nursing which she left to devote herself full time to her children. She was a gifted pianist who shared her gift with all who surrounded her. She was the life of the party and was also her grandchildren’s first piano teacher. She was a stained glass artist, a talent that she developed and perfected later in life. Her creations are timeless treasures. She was an avid skier, golfer and enjoyed spending time with her family at the cottage. The family would like to thank Dr. André Roch for his care over many years. Special thanks to Claudette Lapointe for her exceptional support, care and companionship over the last year. We also wish to thank the wonderful caregivers of Onwatin Lake Pod at Pioneer Manor. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at L’Annonciation Church, Sudbury. Beloved sister of Elzéar, Lorraine, Aurore, Sylvain and Annette. Predeceased by many brothers and sisters. Cherished grandmother of Denis, Mélanie, Richard, Gerry Jr, Mandie, Shawn, Vanessa, Gabriel, Caleb and great grandmother of Nicolas, Connor, Cloé and Jace. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Although she lived in Azilda, her heart & soul always remained back home in New-Brunswick. Passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Grand River Hospital, on July 30, 2017 the age of 76.
Horst is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beate Flint.
Loved by his son Stephen Flint (Caroline) and four daughters, Nancy Hawley (Raymond), Susie Earle (Stephen), Helen Baskin (Daniel) and Connie Dyke (Mark).
Cherished opa of Christopher, Amanda, Christina, Andrew, Richard, Christina, Madison, Bradley, Melissa and Crystal and great-opa of CJ, Heath and Avery.
Predeceased by grandchildren, Curtis and Jasmin.
Horst was born in Germany and left as a young man where he fulfilled his trade as a painter and retired from the Faculty of University of Guelph. Lots of memories were spent in Timmons. Horst has a passion for hunting and fishing and long walks with his best friend, Lucky. Horst was a quiet and simple man, who loved to have Saturday dinners with his family, but most of all his cake.
Horst’s family will receive relatives and friends from 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home, immediately following the visitation, at 1:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at Williamsburg Cemetery, following the memorial service.

Age 63, of Shad Bay, Passed away peacefully on July 19, 2017. He was a son of the late Robert and Doris (Benoit) Collier.
He was an avid outdoorsman who adored sharing his passion and knowledge of bow hunting through his volunteer work with BIANS. He treasured journeying on his motor cycle and made friends wherever his adventures took him. He attended NSIT and enjoyed a great career as an electronic technologist. He has a great love for his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife, Lynn; sons, Kyle and Ryan; daughter, Jenna; sister, Mary Conrod; brother, Joey Collier; and two nieces.

Dr. Carol Homuth ~ passed away at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Harriston on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the age of 93 years.
Carol Edwin Homuth was the husband of the late Viola Homuth, having been married for 63 years until her passing in 2010.
Father of Carole Anne Whelan and her husband Stephen of Scarborough, and Vicky Schinkel and her husband John of Oakville.
Remembered by his granddaughters Jessica Morofke and her husband Darren, Beverly Antunes and her husband Chris, Alison Schinkel-Ivy and her husband Ryan, and Rebecca Schinkel and Bob Paan; and by his great-grandchildren Sophia, Ellie, and Oliver Morofke, and Miles Antunes..
He was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Jean (Werth) Homuth.
Carol was born in Harriston on March 27, 1924. At the University of Toronto during his 3rd year, he met Viola Suomela, a 2nd year student. After graduation in 1946, Carol and Viola joined his father’s optometry practice where they worked for 57 years, along with volunteering as optometrists in the Caribbean.
In 1968, Carol became a Master Model Railroader, #22 worldwide, and served as president of the Niagara Frontier Region and as a director of the National Model Railroad Association.
He was active in his community, having served on the Harriston Public School Board and the Hydro Commission, as well as being a Past Master of Harriston Masonic Lodge No. 262. He was a Scout leader for 30 years.
In 2010, the Harriston Historical Society was founded by Carol, Grant MacKenzie and Ron Leslie, with Carol writing many articles of his Harriston memories. He took great pleasure in his collections of model fire trucks, trains, cars, and his Pequegnat clocks, which he donated to the Harriston Historical Society.
Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic Lodge memorial service at 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be held from Knox-Calvin Presbyterian Church, Harriston on Friday, August 4th at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Kathy Morden officiating.
Interment in Harriston Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Knox-Calvin Presbyterian Church, Harriston, or Harriston Historical Society would be appreciated.
